Language of Friendship

Language of Friendship

Dear friends, it has, once again, been my true joy to open our Farm to lavender lovers and farm fans from near and far – from other states and countries, even!

First-time guests, distillation work-shoppers, long-time customers and lively families, all came to pick our lavender and enjoy the relaxation and refresh-ment to be found on a farm in Summer.

My sweetest memories of the season? Greeting guests from such a variety of other countries! Each week brought people speaking Russian (Spasibo), Korean (Gamsahamnida), or Tagalog (Salamat po), all of whom spoke the language of friendship in their own unique way. How beautiful their languages are, and how easily we made a connection. I thank them for helping me learn to say "Thank You" for visiting the Farm.

It reminds me of a favorite song, entitled “Love in Any Language”.

Love in any language,

Straight from the heart,

Pulls us together,

Never apart.

This week, as we celebrate America’s 250th year, I’m thinking of the millions who celebrate with us. Imagine the diverse ways they say, “My country ‘tis of thee…”

Our Farm is officially closed to the public for the moment. Distillation has already begun! The perfume of the lavender is even stronger as it is processed into glorious organic essential oil. It is… scentsational. (I love my job.)

It has been a most amazing and fulfilling Summer. Richard, the Farm Team and I cannot stop smiling!
