Summer in Capay

Quiet and Comets

When we tell future generations about the summer of 2020, we will have plenty to say. Here at Capay Valley Lavender, we’ll talk about the fresh country air, the sounds of the valley – roosters, sheep, and mooing cows – and the magnificent nighttime sky.

On July 23rd, we were thrilled to host two new Lavender Festival friends who came to take photos of the historic Comet Neowise. As they set up, and we settled in (masked and socially distant, of course), the bright comet streaked overhead and left us feeling a little breathless. What a stunning reminder of our “insignificant” all our worries are.
